MOURINHO SET TO REPLACE CARRICK WITH MATIC

Jose Mourinho's summer transfer plans have begun with the Manchester United reportedly plotting a shock £35million move for Nemanja Matic.

According to reports from England, Mourinho sees Matic as a key piece in a new look center-midfield he wants next season.

Mourinho signed Matic for Chelsea in 2014 and the midfielder has gone on to bigger things.

Serbian Matic, 28, will lift the Premier League title today for the second time at Chelsea after their match with Sunderland.

A move to United will depend on Conte willing to let a first-team player go, He could however be forced to sell if he gets midfield target Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco.

Matic has two years left on his current terms at the Blues and no announcement has been made about extending it.

Mourinho sees Matic as a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick, who has been a key performer but turns 36 this summer.
